SKIING IN BANSKO
Bansko is one of the most popular ski resorts in Bulgaria and is competing with some of the top mainstream European resorts to offer tourists an enjoyable, affordable winter holiday.
Bansko is a charming town with the beautiful Pirin Mountain National Park on its doorstep. From Snowflake Chalets you will benefit from our swift complementary shuttle run direct to the gondola. Stunning views surround you on your gondola ride to Banderishka Poliana. Here is where anyone and everyone can enjoy food and drink in the restaurants whilst beginners enjoy the gentle slopes, drag lift and magic carpet. Intermediates and advance skiers and boarders can take the chair lifts higher to enjoy a thrilling day on the mountain.
Why not check out Bansko Snow Park with its boxes, rails and kickers? Don't forget to wear your helmet and make sure you know what you are doing before showing off to your friends!
Bansko offers 75km of skiable pistes and has the best snow record in Bulgaria. The season starts mid-December and ends mid-April. With the support of the excellent snow cannons covering 80% of the slopes, this ensures a great skiing experience in warmer weather.
At the end of the day, skiers and snowboarders have a choice to return by the gondola or take the 16km uninterrupted ski slope down to Bansko base with optional shuttle run back to Snowflake Chalet.
The highest peak of the Pirin Mountain area is Vihren at 2914m above sea level. The pyramid shaped mountain you see from Bansko is Todorka, standing at 2746m above sea level. At night you will see the lights of the snow cannons and piste bashers at work, grooming the slopes in preparation for the next day of thrill seekers.
From nursery slopes to off-piste, Bansko Ski Resort has it all.
